Last week we visited Colorado for a spring break ski trip and it was so much fun! It was my first time in CO (other than layovers at the Denver airport), and it was just as beautiful as everyone told me it would be. We road tripped out there with Trey's older brother, his wife, and their three kiddos, and then stayed in a huge house with 20 of us total! I didn't get to take any "glamorous" or outfit photos while out there because we we pretty much skied all day every day and then showered, cooked, and drank wine & beer at night. I didn't eve wear makeup half the time...which was a nice break! So, these are pretty much just iphone snaps of the scenery and skiing!
^^A quick stop in Vail on the way to our resort for some lunch + shopping
^^Snapped up on the little mountain right behind our house. I hiked it with my niece and a friend of ours right after we arrived since we had been sitting in the car for hours!
^^Apologies for the slightly warped panorama shot, but I had to capture the view from the balcony at our house. It was stunning!
^^I may or may not look younger than my 13-year-old niece in this photo (my word, my outfit looks puffy here!), but I love this family picture!
^^It snowed nearly a foot at our ski resort for our final day of skiing, making everything look extra beautiful!
^^Two of my adorable nieces :)
We skied at Sunlight Mountain Resort, which was so great! It's a smaller mountain, so it was far less expensive and quite a bit more laid back than the more famous ski resorts. I highly, highly recommend it! We still had plenty of runs to do, and it was a great mountain to ski at with lots of kids on the trip because we could keep track of everyone much more easily. Sunlight Mountain is roughly a 20 minute drive from Glenwood Springs, a darling town with lots of cute restaurants and shops. Our house was called the Sunshine Ridge Guest House, and was located right in between town and the resort, so it didn't take us long to drive to ski in the morning, but it also wasn't a big deal to go into town to get groceries. If you have any questions about the trip, where we stayed and skied, etc. just leave a comment below or email me at lovelenoreblog@gmail.com!
While I originally wanted to go on a beach vacation for spring break, we ended up having so much fun and loved spending time with family and friends! It was also awesome to ski after a 7-year gap since the last ski trip I went on, and I proved to myself that I could do a lot more than I thought.
Thanks for reading! I hope your week is going well so far :)
